The San Diego Mission parish has really grown since we left in 1962. It is much larger and better organized. They have 2 priests, 2 deacons, a large laity, many committees, and nuns which operate the orphanage. In this time when every parish is cutting back the number of masses, the mission has 2 masses on Saturday, 6 on Sunday, and 2 every weekday. In 1962 we think they had 2, maybe 3, masses on Sunday.

The flower garden in front of the mission is new since 1962.

As usual the inside is very clean and old.

The Coronado Hotel The last time we were here was for New Years Eve 1961.

It would be wonderful to stay here.

Waiting for the restaurant to open. There were a lot of people on the beach but not many in the water.

Having a small appetizer of delicious muscles. Mom enjoyed dunking her bread in the garlic sauce.

We had a great meal, service, and table. Even using a flash the beach in the background still got over exposed.

The setting sun is over the ocean and we are on the way back to the motorhome and on to Arizona tomorrow morning.
